Texas Democrats head to Illinois to deny Republicans a quorum on redistricting – NBC News

The roughly 30 Democrats are expected to stay for the week in a plan brokered with Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, who had met with the Texas caucus late last month and has directed his staff to provide logistical support for their stay. Politically, the move puts Pritzker at the center of a high-profile national fight. He has implored Democrats to resist Trump’s agenda.

JB can preen, pose and threaten all he wants, but IL Democrats AKA Communists have already gerrymandered as much as they can. Same for NY and California. They can’t squeeze any more corrupted Democrat AKA Communist House Seats out of these stones. TX Republicans are simply doing what the evil Democrats AKA Communists have done for decades. It’s about time. Democrats AKA Communists are going to lose many seats in the House in 2026. JB can try to redistrict IL even more than the current perversion but first, he doesn’t have the evil genius of of Mike Madigan to do… Read more »

Taking a break from his looting of state taxpayers, JB the Hutt moves from violating Federal Immigration Law to harboring state fugitives.

Why doesn’t JB let them roam through Chicago by themselves to give them a personal, up-close experience in a true sanctuary city? They could take a tour of the Obama library, the west side of city and then finish up by getting carjacked in River North.

Isn’t Illinois Fun?

This is like something out of the Onion. TX Democrats, some flying private, fly to IL, perhaps the most gerrymandered state in the country to protest gerrymandering. Will these folks hunker down strategizing (in a strip mall party office in Springfield?) or will they be seen in the wild in River North, Wrigkeyville, West Loop? If our beloved JB is providing logistical support, who is paying for whatever that is?

Sounds like governor Flintstone may be aiding and abetting from what governor Abbott said last night

Texas Democrats pulled this same temper tantrum a few years ago, over voter ID laws.

They lost that one too.

Only JB the Hutt is dumb enough to think he’s some kind of modern day hero for these cosplaying fugitive Democrats fleeing to the North — a latter day Harriet Tubman — emphasis on the Tub.

So Texas D’s are too stupid to plan their own one week vacation.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
