Mark and Dan discussed the policy direction of the state and the political consequences, with Mark pointing out Pritzker’s administration has prioritized messaging over results, such as expanding access to financial aid for undocumented students and new requirements for mandatory mental health screenings in schools. Mark also criticized the lowering of statewide academic standards and ongoing financial mismanagement at Chicago schools.

Expect no retraction or apology. This what they do.
The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.
Pritzger and the democrats who control the House and Senate of Illinois care only about Cook County. The rural rubes and hayseeds don’t matter.
You’vd proved yourself a good dictator Pritzker. Now, take your legislators and judges and apply for the presidency of Brazil or Venezuela.
Democrats are losing ground on every front! DEI is dying. Washington DC is getting cleaned up and Chicago is next. Most importantly, Democrat cash flows are getting shut down. Pritzker is out of runway. Now is the time to organize and get active in conservative politics.
Amen. Less taxes, no immigrants, release the Epstein list. Vance/Trump Jr 2028!
We are running a massive deficit so taxes won’t be lower when people don’t have the appetite to cut spending. Also, I understand not wanting illegal immigrants but why “no immigrants” at all? Doesn’t seem like a solid plan.
Pritzker does not care about IL US citizens. He is prioritizing illegals, criminals and “identity “ groups over taxpayers. He doesn’t care about education. He’s lowering the standards to make it appear that students are proficient, instead of implementing policies to improve education and legitimately improve test scores. Hes trying to take away parental rights with mental health student testing and opposing school choice. He’s trying to improve his image with lefties for a presidential run. He should focus on improving IL. Platitudes are useless. He’s ruined IL with his policies and gerrymandering. Independents and Republicans have no voice. Vote… Read more »
Since that’ll happen when pigs fly, Deb, I suggest cutting your losses and moving to America
No, Priztker is not out of sync with what Illinoisians – who are majority Chicagoans – want. He’s exactly what they want. They’ve voted for him twice now. These people don’t care about “results” as you think about them, such as basic governance, good public services, stable finances, etc. They do however care deeply about frivolous stuff such as messaging and literally anything antithetical to Republicans and Trump. This is the part that always baffles me, pundits like Dan Proft think we have a politician problem but these folks don’t elect themselves. Over and over again, the people of Illinois… Read more »
100 percent anon. People like to pretend that JB isn’t aligned to the voters all the while he continues to win each governors election by a landslide. Over and over again as you’ve noted. Until your neighbors vote differently this will continue.
I don’t comment very often anymore, but I had to agree with this comment. I decided 4 years ago my Illinois neighbors were basically uninformed idiots, and beyond reasoning with, so I left Illinois.
Probably a very wise move. It sounds like you were more interested in improving your lot in life rather than just complaining and becoming a victim. I commend you and I may do the same.
It’s much more simple that that, vis: Vote buying is incredibly effective.
Win?
Win against what?
Illinois is a one party State and has been since Richie Daley and Mike Madigan re-wrote the Illinois Constitution in 1970!
He beat Rauner (you know the incumbent Governor that won before) and then beat Bailey. The majority of the Illinois voters regardless of district chose JB twice so he won twice.
Or the voting machines are Thrown out
Like all Democrats, Jabba is only concerned with putting on a virtue signal puppet show. The actual needs of Illinois citizens are totally irrelevant.
