New Chicago speed cameras issued more than 91,000 tickets in one month – ABC7 (Chicago)

A new camera near a daycare at 3358 South Ashland has generated the most tickets in the city. It issued 21,180 tickets. It went live on June 15.

Missing from the report is that the cameras issue tickets for being ONE mile/ hour over the speed limit and also that a lot of the folks issued tickets never have paid one and never will but drive around carelessly anyway.

Just call them revenue cameras. Maybe if Shotspotter could’ve been monetized into a revenue stream they’d still be around. $5 a bullet.

That many speeders normally mean the speed limit is too low for the area. This is just another money grab by the Chitty.
