Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
He should’ve gotten life in prison, just like he sentenced the rest of you Illinoisans to through his “legislative efforts”.
Looks like Mikey is headed to Club Fed in WV.
Take me home, country roads, to the cell I belong….
He should be going to Stateville.
Too bad it isn’t a jail where if you drop the soap in the shower you’d feel the pain you put the people of Illinois through
But where? Vienna? Leavenworth? Or some country club from which he will surely be released after a reduced, token punishment is deemed fulfilled or he starts pleading poor health? All for show, people. I wonder if he’ll get the disgusting “ traditional 50% reduction in his sentence “ that is afforded murderers and rapists every day?
No parole or possibility for early release in the federal system – just good time credits. He is in for most of his sentence unless he receives an executive pardon or commutation.
If his health fails – and that should not be wished on anyone – he could seek relief on merciful grounds. The attorney who works on those matters for the DOJ/BOP lives near me, and she relates conditions for mercy relief are very high.
I don’t cheer anyone’s misfortune but it is hard to argue against accountability here.
I hope they have additional cells ready
sweep and wipe the bars clean.
pritzger and Brandon hopefully on the way.
Mikey “I Am Not A Crook” Madigan is going to da Big House.
Another corrupt Illinois Dem.
When are the Feds going to charge the Illinois Democratic Party as a criminal enterprise?!!
The taxpayers got a life sentence.
And there will be much rejoicing.
His sentence should have been one year for each year in the legislature, since he was corrupt the entire time.
He got off easy.
