The law defines mother as “the person who gave birth” which, in a surrogate situation is a largely unrelated other. When fertility services mature to permit birth outside a womb, will the “person who gave birth” be a test tube?

Hey, Jelly Belly, there’s nothing wrong with our families; but plenty wrong with this state. Fix it fool! And leave the families alone.

The state dem government and JumboJB waste time on addressing this sort of nonsense that impacts such an infinitesimal percentage of the population….while paying no attention to real issues that impact the majority of tax payers and citizens. Stop wasting time on this crap and reduce property taxes, address the laws put in place by Madigan related to government pensions, consolidate school districts, consolidate local government, eliminate duplication, reduce costs…do something that helps the majority of the people of Illinois instead of penalizing them at every-single-turn.
