Commentary: Fix the budget. Don’t break the city. – Chicago Tribune*

"We all want safe streets and strong schools. But this budget punishes the people it claims to help. The head tax is sold as a hit on big corporations, yet it lands on working Chicagoans — the servers, grocery clerks and warehouse employees — whose jobs are first to be cut or moved when hiring gets more expensive."

“We all want safe streets and strong schools”. Who’s “we”???
This statement is a lie.
It’s obvious that the voters do no care one bit about safe streets and strong schools, because every election they vote for the politicians whose actions, not words, prove that they favor unsafe streets and poor schools.
This is an incontrovertible fact.
