I fully understand that many of claims about ICE have been exaggerated, politicized or entirely made up. We have tried hard to link to stories on both sides. And I agree that the judge in this case has made terribly inappropriate comments. However, the weight of evidence about conditions at Broadview sure appears to me to be overwhelming — that the conditions are completely unacceptable and must be fixed.
Yep Mark – If the conditions are really as these people say, some changes should be made. Especially the food, bed and time spent in the place…need to move them along. The plugged toilets and other conditions might be caused on purpose by the detainees (who knows) but that’s another issue. However, if ICE is detaining these people because they have deport orders against them, we can be as compassionate as we can be regarding where their kids and family are and understand that they don’t want to leave…but those are the risks and decisions they made to be here… Read more »
The children rescued from the hellhole on the South Shore by ICE agents from a building unfit for occupancy and rife with Augua members didn’t deserve it either. However, the media was too focused on “ kids in handcuffs “ to bring the fact that they were saved. By the local media and SJW’s estimates, ICE can’t and won’t ever do anything right even as they round up criminals that live off of working people’s taxes.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
Don’t do the crime and they gave them EVERY opportunity and even MONEY to do the right thing and LEAVE, no tear drops from me!
