In addition, Chicago taxpayers have spent at least $266.8 million to resolve nearly two and a half dozen lawsuits, exceeding the city’s annual budget to resolve lawsuits alleging police misconduct by nearly $185 million, city records show.

Over spent by $500,000,000 and still only 50% of 911 calls get answered. That’s really impressive.

If Chicago doesn’t want police OT, then cut number of events that require police. That’s where the majority of mandatory OT comes from.

Simple solution. No street patrols, no follow up investigations. Man police stations only so those victims who can still walk and talk can go there to report a crime. Get a report number and file for insurence if they have it. Dead bodies on the street? Call the ME to have it removed and make a report at the police station. Victims and family, too bad, so sad. No traffic controls at events, make the event promoters hire private. No security details for the mayor or others who think they are importsnt. Major budget savings.
