Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez unexpectedly rose during House votes Wednesday night to demand a vote on condemning Rep. Jesús "Chuy" García for unexpectedly dropping his re-election bid, enabling his chief of staff to run in his place. She read, "García's actions are beneath the dignity of his office and incompatible with the spirit of the Constitution."
Extremely weird story. There’s something else going on here.
Dems don’t usually turn on their fellow Marxists, especially since García is going to be replaced with another presumed Hispanic Marxist. It’s not like this is a swing district.
And this accuser is from Washington state. Even weirder.

Remember the infamous words of Richard J Daley, ‘if I can’t help my sons, then kiss my a$$.” Me think this quote has a nexus for Chuey here, no?

This is the way your fellow Dems operate, lady. Didn’t the Joe episode teach you anything?
Isn’t Illinois Fun?

Rep. Useless put out a statement justifying his decision because of family issues including an ailing wife and raising grandkids…all of which was going ok until the day of the deadline when he suddenly, viola!, realized it was not going ok and he’d better retire. Bill and Dan Lipinski must be chuckling, likewise the Stroger family and so many others who’ve pulled the same stunt. Yeah, voters rights!

I would expect nothing less of Chewie. Apparently the No Kings fervor doesn’t apply to Democratic office holders.

She’s 100% right. That’s what happened. But, likely he did nothing legally wrong, he just used the crappy, poorly written laws in Illinois to get around a free and fair election. Nothing new there, Madigan spent his entire career manipulating the laws of Illinois to suit his needs and his supporters interests. Leaving loop holes in election and procedures rules for crooks like this to manipulate the outcome is par for Illinois course.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
