Pritzker, alders oppose Chicago tax plans, property tax hike could be next – Center Square

Alderman Raymond Lopez suggested that, if the corporate head tax fails, the mayor could push a property tax increase. Lopez noted that Chicago Budget Director Annette Guzman sent a letter to City Clerk Anna Valencia suggesting the need for an estimated property tax increase of $1.8 billion.
