Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order Saturday to direct additional city resources to local organizations working to address the ongoing food insecurity caused by the government shutdown, the pause in SNAP benefits, as well as upcoming SNAP requirement changes.
I’m all for helping the people that truly need it, but it’s being abused. In the Joliet area there are numerous hand out stations, what amazes me is the vehicles these “poor” people drive. BMW Mercedes Lexus, the chow line looks like a high end car dealership- cut off all the freebies and stop asking working class for more. Keep feeding wildlife and keeps coming back
Whatever he does ,whatever he says is meant to benefit him. No one else

“ Food insecurity “. Nice newspeak from a bumbling Marxist in a country where 1 in 7 people receives some sort of public assistance, there are food banks and food handout events everywhere the eye can see and some folks seem to have enough surplus aid to turn the unused portion into fun money. Let’s also mention “ food deserts “, created by the local inhabitants that shoplift and arm rob stores struggling to turn a profit out of existence. “ Lack of accountability and self respect insecurity “ would be the more accurate “ buzzword “ to angle more… Read more »
You will never have to be ashamed by helping poor people. Chicago has everything messed up, but if it can afford all the waste it can afford to help the poor for a few months get food. Too many of the homeless are veterans and need help.
Fiduciary responsibility be damned this public servant hates Trump so much she will invest city money in Burkino Faso transgendered theater. Be sure your error and omissions insurance is current.

I’ve seen the “community” the “folks” if you will; and they aren’t starving.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

To summarize, work requirements and excluding illegal migrants is a “war on working people,” according to the mayor.
The Mayor is a moron.

Not to worry, Chicago is boycotting Treasury bonds. City leadership has everything under control.

If we can land on the moon, why can’t we cure the common cold, right Leaving?
Chicago obviously can’t afford all the waste. Do you have a better premise for your flawed logic?

The one thing that Europeans say about Americans is that they are FAT. I would add Lazy to that.
African American women especially have high obesity rates.
