Taxpayers pay $23.6M for Chicago Public Schools vacations – Illinois Policy

Because of “lax, vague, inadequate and unenforced CPS travel rules, training and procedures,” CPS employees excessively spent taxpayer money, in many instances without approval. Luxurious vacations were veiled as professional development conferences, according to the CPS Office of Inspector General.

Pathetic. This story supports all of the suspicions and claims here and elsewhere about CPS, waste, abuse, and loss of their prime directive. This is no longer school…as we have all suspected, this is money laundering scheme designed to enrich the administration and staff. CPS is broken. It should be closed. All Fired. Sell under utilized buildings. Start over or don’t. There clearly isn’t much teaching going on in the class room anyway. Perhaps Jumbo should focus on helping to fix the education system in Illinois vs. visiting with the Pope in Rome. He’s just as bad as CPS.

Benefits such as these are taxable on a W-2. Not doing so is tax fraud.

Uh oh, someone is confusing the CPS/CTU/Democratic Party symbiosis with education again.
