‘Complete lawlessness’: Critics slam mayor as Loop mob attack and shootings shock Chicago – CWB Chicago

The reaction from retired Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitzel was scathing as he painted images of “escalating violence” and “complete lawlessness” in Chicago: "The mayor and his team are deflecting instead of protecting.”

Nah. We don’t need any more police on the streets. Let’s just send some counselors to find out what is troubling these misguided youths. Are they upset because they can’t find enough ammunition for their weapons? Or is it getting harder to hijack a car for an evening out? Or maybe they are getting too much homework from the public high schools and the are angry at the Chicago Teachers Union. As Lori Lightweight used to say, ” They are just looking for a way to express themselves.”

And enforcement. Need to be able to let the Police do what they need to do for order.

It’s time for that “talk” that Eric Holder told America was needed.

A “talk” he should’ve had with his son currently serving time in prison for murder.

Well, it was all “largely peaceful.” Only a few shootings. Only a couple of brutal beatings. Nah, we have all the bad guys under control. What kind of sicko public officials don’t welcome help controlling this obviously out of control city?

300 youth rioting, shooting, 1 dead, 8 wounded on state street during the annual chistmas tree lighting event. But, all is well. No problem. But wait, two days ago an innocent woman riding the train was set-on-fire by a career criminal with 50 arrests and immediate releases. How does this make any sense to anyone.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
