Cook County State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke reflects on first year in office – WGNTV (Chicago)

In April, the electronic monitoring program shifted from Sheriff Tom Dart’s jurisdiction to the Cook County Chief Judge’s office, which lacks law enforcement authority. Essentially, O’Neill says that he created a paper tiger. She is hopeful that the new chief judge, Charlie Beach, will make the necessary changes to make them work as they should.
