While I honestly believe that Mayor Johnson is disgusted and dismayed by the abhorrent crimes occurring on the CTA and throughout the city, the situation reminds me of that season of The Wire featuring Mayor Carcetti. The city was so corrupt and everyone so demoralized that no single person could realistically fix it.Special interests run rampant and block meaningful solutions. The problem with the Safe-T Act is that the Legislative Black Caucus functions as one such powerful special interest group. CTA needs to stop spending money that they do not have, stop stealing from taxpayers, and reorganize to be fiscally responsible. It pays well to be friends with connected people.
