"Is there a role for CPD? Of course. Is there a role for security to help support our riders? Absolutely. Are there other ways that we can also address the challenges CTA has, particularly around homelessness and mental health? Absolutely. It requires all of it,” Mayor Brandon Johnson said.
It took a multi-billion-dollar threat for Mayor Cliff Notes to finally do his job.
Mayor Notes is in so far over his head, standing on the wreck of Chicago he has to look up to see the wreck of the USS Johnston.

I’d love to see Johnson, minus his legion of security guards, reinforce his point by grabbing the green line home after work.

The Chicago PD is short about 2,000 sworn officers and Mayor 6.6 wants to drastically cut overtime for the police. At current staffing levels the Chicago PD cannot put anyone in uniform or plain clothes in CTA conveyances or stations…but just think what 150 officers could do in these locations….if Mayor Johnson gave up his security detail?

Chicago now prohibits people from carrying more than eight ounces of flammable liquid and two BIC lighters at once onboard any CTA conveyances!

Pritzker plans to create a Task Force, and a new Office of Transit Safety. From my window I see empty Metra trains going back and forth all day, but the transit budget hasn’t been cut. Something is rotten in Illinois.

The Feds have to threaten withholding funds to force Chicago to step up safety. Otherwise Chicago and CTA would use their newly gotten gains on something else to benefit them and their cronies. Chicago is quite good at diverting funds to liberal ideas and continuing wasteful spending.

Constant robberies, violence, even a young woman set-on-fire on the train got little or no reaction from either of them…”it’s a big city you are going to have crime or its an isolated incident” as they have said. But, when the President threatens to cut funding…all hell breaks loose. They are outraged, they yell and claim he is cheating and they threaten lawsuits. This just illustrates that neither one of these morons understand what their job is and have lost interest in the people of Illinois. Here is… Read more »
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
