On the chopping block in Illinois is a $100 million grant to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for electric vehicle charging stations and a $3.6 million grant to the secretary of state’s office, the White House’s Office of Management and Budget said.
Quoting my earlier missive on this sordid subject here: “Illinois…with $100 million provided to the state’s Environmental Protection Agency to build electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Didn’t Pete Buttgag get these installed? That was his job, not that he was any good at it. He was a terrible transportation secretary, possessing no transport experience or knowledge of any kind. How many low-and-moderate-income families can afford one of these ridiculously impractical and hideously expensive glorified golf carts? Zip. Zero. Nada. Pete Buttgag blew through the budget getting 8 ev stations installed. These kinds of projects just take time and a whole lot more money.

We can count on Talia Soglin, DNC typist for the leftist pamphlet formerly known as The Trib, to run cover for the limitless spending by Illinois political animals. It doesn’t matter why the grant was requested, just cough up the confiscated taxpayer funds and don’t ask questions, Uncle Fed. Stenographer Soglin inadvertently left out that these grants disproportionately were approved for states that voted for the previous administration, thus why these clawbacks also disproportionately are going to these same poorly-run blue states.
