It was harder for workers in Illinois to find a job than in most other states. There were 1.4 unemployed workers for every job opening, the 7th highest ratio in the nation. This reveals a fundamental weakness: Illinois isn’t creating enough job openings to offer sufficient opportunities to its unemployed workforce.

IL ranks far below average in almost every economic metric. Loss of jobs, lack of gainful employment, and loss of residents are but a few. They are in the top tier of people on welfare, about 1.2 M , though. Think about that- enough people to populate the city boundaries of CHI all on the dole.

Good thing there are so many government jobs and employees or the numbers would be worse. Look at how many jobs are cut every month and businesses cutting back or leaving.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
