Construction crews work at Chicago’s Obama Presidential Center site in September of 2025.Now come more inevitable comparisons between Obama and Trump. As Trump he became famous for massive construction projects and his relentless promotion of them. Now as Obama prepares to open his own signature development project, the strategy seems focused on lowering expectations.

Darth Vader, noted architectural critic and slayer of younglings, declared the Obama Church of Fielty and Hopium an architectural triumph.

“It’s so warm and inviting.” opined the Dark Lord of the Sith.

This reminds me of the fiasco when the White Sox built their new stadium a quarter century ago. It could have been built on old railroad property downtown near shops, bars, hotels, and public transportation, with the awesome Chicago skyline as a backdrop. Instead they bulldozed the area by the old park and built it there. Fans (not many of them) go to the game and leave, no one wants to hang out around that area.

First . What would be the draw to see the library of a mediocre, somewhat wimpy leader, who’s only claim is the 1st black president. 2nd who would waste vacation time visiting an all digital library. No books, no papers just computer screens. The liberal left voted him in. Let them go .

The Obama Presidential Center is finally opening—a high-priced monument to a “digital” library that, much like his presidency, contains surprisingly little substance. It’s the ultimate souvenir from the “Apology Tour” era, celebrating a legacy of global prostration and “leading from behind” while Illinois families continue to foot the bill for his party’s obsession with anyone but American citizens. If you’re looking for a shrine to mediocrity and Trump-derangement-as-policy, you’ve found it; for everyone else, it’s just a very expensive reminder to finally wake up and put America first.
