Illinois is a state that screws poor and working class people on taxes. $7,000 tax bills for 1,200 sq ft homes. One of the highest gas taxes in the nation, same for sales tax, vice and sin taxes, expensive tolls, nickel and dime you on fees. The bottom 60% either scrimps and saves and lives like paupers, or they fill the gap between income and expenses with credit cards. Nonsense. Chicagoans love being perpetual losers. They wallow in their status as slaves and abused persons. It’s not distress when the people so “distressed” love it and will live no other way.

Really no surprise. They may pay the taxes in cash, but then they charge other needs with a credit card. In essence they are charging the taxes increases on their credit cards. They rob Peter to pay Paul.
