Illinois Department of Early Childhood Secretary Teresa Ramos said funding is primarily being allocated to the agency in line with the programs being taken over from other agencies, though she clarified the focus of efficiency is in the efficacy of programs, above financial efficiency.
When you’re running surpluses like Illinois is, there’s plenty of confiscated taxpayer cash available for yet another political animal slush fund.

$4.4B. That’s Billions! Billions spent on early childhood…daycare…baby sitting…some sort of education…just in Illinois. Likely most of it wasted in Chicago. Does this cost factor into the calculation of what tax payers spend on the Education Grift in Illinois? Another department focused on taking money from working people and wasting it on grift.

Sounds about right. Illinois has a mountain of debt, so it’s time to create yet another department whose functions already exist elsewhere.
This is another example of ever-increasing bloat, unless there is no net overall increase in employees. Does anyone believe that will happen?

Early childhood education is great, but useless in Chicago. CTU and CPS stop teaching once these kids get into kindergarten. CPS undoes any progress made in early childhood programs.

As long as it’s all taken from someone else, we can’t afford any more taxes.

Another way to bring on family, friends and political donors to jobs they will not be qualified for. We’ll probably give them sweet pension plans as well
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
