"Why is shutting down schools for a union-led protest part of a contract discussion in the first place? In part, it’s because of a state law passed in 2021 that repealed limits on CTU’s collective bargaining powers. There are now virtually no limits on what CTU can demand at the bargaining table, which means unlimited political moves and unlimited grievances."
May 1 should be ‘Victims of Communism Day’ for the 100+ million killed by that failed economic system, most of them starved to death by socialist policies or simply murdered for daring to point out socialism’s fatal flaws or daring to dissent or attempting to escape.
Instead, we have the communists in CTU and IEA throwing a party celebrating their deaths and demanding their right to propagandize CPS students into becoming tomorrow’s Brandon Johnsons.

Hold schools and teachers legally accountable for truant students and any harm that may come to these students. Teachers should be more concerned about student failure and start doing their job, not promoting indoctrination. Fire teachers who let students out of class to protest. It would be nice if students could read the signs that they are handed.
What do you expect individual teachers to do—lock them to their desks? Believe me it’s a legal issue above your pay grade, and “freedom of expression” is a significant part of American law.
As with their ever changing covid DEMANDS, the CTU will push and push until someone in charge of city government grows a pair and drops the hammer on them, hard. Hopefully, the next mayor makes provisions to decertify and defund them and can dismiss their Marxist agenda out of hand.

Stay home or another day to go our and rob, pillage, and shoot or be shot.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.
