"Young, tough looking cops, standing in pairs every couple of blocks. Alert. Ready. I stopped to talk to them. Nice guys. Very guarded in how they answered my questions about what it was like. Things are better. People are mostly nice. No, you don’t come here after dark. No, don’t go off the avenue. No, don’t wander around Streeterville. I caught a Vietnam era vibe as if I was talking to soldiers back from a tour or two."
I’m sure similar situations abound in NYC, PHI, LA and even lesser populated yet once nice and now dangerous places such as Portland, Seattle, Providence, etc. When you let animals take over and the elected stay in power by catering to said animals, but juice the working people to feed the animals, what do you expect? The Emerald City? Avalon? You may think that will be the result, but you end up in something more on a par with East St. Louis.
We all let it happen, never trying to stop it.
This will continue until we learn the old
phrase,” you may take the animal out of the
jungle, you cannot take the jungle out of the
animal”.

“What The Hell Happened to Chicago:”Johns awesome article and his thoughtful commenters succinctly answer that question. It’ all so sad and disgusting.
One word: Democrats.
