Column: Five years later, Black caucus says SAFE-T Act working just fine – Champaign News-Gazette

Jim Dey: "Still, the SAFE-T Act has big problems, to the point that Gov. JB Pritzker — one of its biggest cheerleaders — has stated he might support 'tweaks' in the law. What tweaks he might support, the governor did not say. If he’s looking for ideas, Pritzker should speak to two state’s attorneys: Robert Berlin of DuPage County and Randi Freese of McHenry County."

Seems like it. Chicago is so much safer. Not that what any of you think or know matters in their assessment.

Violent black criminals note, HEYJACKASS.COM, has the number of 68%of shootings and murders in Chicago for 2026 and for almost 15 yrs prior involve blacks. So it’s obvious that violent black criminals are a problem and the solution by the black caucus is to create laws that release violent black criminals back into society to continue committing violent crimes. Black politicians creating the very serious violent crime problem plaguing the city. Don’t worry, it’s all President Trumps fault.

Typical Democrat lies.

And in other news the Affordable Care Act is in trouble and needs more subsidies from the government because…well…it is unaffordable. Instead of the cost curve being bent downwards, the taxpayers got bent over. It’s the democrats way.

The Black caucus ( I wonder what would happen if a White caucus were created ) is all in on letting criminals go, just as they KO’d ShotSpotter ( “ walkie talkie on a stick!” as America’s most ignorant mayor termed it ) for accurately depicting who was doing what where and when. They are now seeking to do away with facial recognition and police body cameras. “ They can’t handle the truth!”.

“Caucus members claim the law is working as intended and cite declines in violent crime in Illinois and Chicago as proof.” – Maybe because the way crimes are reported has changed. You can also listen to a police scanner and hear all the calls where an officer isn’t dispatched because one isn’t available, my guess is a large number of those are not reported.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
