Contrary to what the writer thinks, the open air zoo known as Chicago will keep electing incompetent, left wing politicians based on their skin tone and never be the great city it once was. We’ve been hearing for decades how Detroit is bouncing back with no evidence of that happening. The same fate awaits Chicago.

Fact is, Soldier Field is inadequate for an NFL team. New stadium for 10 games a year? Maybe, but probably not, a Super Bowl. Who else will use it? With all the existing stadiums, including new one for soccer, is another one in the city needed? Soldier Field not being torn down, yet needs millions for infrastructure improvements. Fiscal problems not all Johnson’s fault, goes back decades due to massive capitulation to unions and pension benefits. Chicago in vicious downward spiral that cannot be stopped. The whole nation knows it.

It can be stopped. Philadelphia was turned around by former Mayor Ed Rendell during the 90s. He was a Democrat with the vision, brains and courage to make the tough and right decisions. Google him. Is such a person in Chicago willing to run? Alexi is a swamp thing. Mendoza gets the issues. Getting the issues is one thing, having the skill set to address them is another. Is she so equipped?
