Last June, Chicago police arrested 16-year-old Rogelio Galindo while he allegedly carried an AR-style pistol loaded with a 40-round magazine that bore no serial number or manufacturer markings. A juvenile court judge placed Galindo on electronic monitoring. Prosecutors said the monitor was removed about a month later. He is the 24th person charged with killing or trying to kill someone in the city last year while on felony pretrial release.

Seems like time in jail would have been more effective than an ankle bracelet. Safe-T act never fails to support criminals over victims.
Isn’t Illinois Fun?

The article does not include the rationale for removing an ankle bracket monitor from a 16 year old who’d been carrying an AK47 type weapon with an expanded magazine in an area known for gangs. What could the legal issue used by the judge to justify that possibly be?
Legal issue? There’s no legal issue. This is all by design.

Again the Evans-Foxx stink gets another person killed. Our local papers should start to print these cases with the judges names attached so we have a record on who to vote out.
Do you actually believe that would make one bit of difference? Do you really think that local papers are what drive election outcomes? Local papers are dying because nobody reads them. Putting more boring information in them won’t drive readership nor will it move the electorate. People get their news and opinions from social media not from the local paper or channel 9. Those days are pretty much over. Look at Spencer Pratt’s campaign to see how effective a conservative campaign can be run in a deep blue state/city if you have any doubt.
A largely unasked question is becoming glaring: Is Illinois doing all it should to use artificial intelligence to make government cost less and work better? So far, the evidence says no.

CWB keeps a running tally.
