Cook County property tax bills will again be late, Toni Preckwinkle says – Chicago Tribune/Yahoo

Preckwinkle did not point to a culprit for the two-month deferral. In an attempt to head off further uproar from various local government leaders, Preckwinkle announced Tuesday she is again setting aside $300 million to loan to local governments to help them balance their budgets and pay their employees.

“Preckwinkle did not point to a culprit for the two-month deferral.” Which really means the political hires in this department are not competent enough to get the bills out on time.

Absolutely incredible. Cook County, already gouging its residents with its outrageous property and sales taxes can’t even get the bills out in the mail. Even bush league governments in rural US and third world countries can do better.
