Illinois gas tax set to increase every year—without a vote – Illinois Policy

This year, the state is holding off for six months on a 1.3-cents-a-gallon increase that was slated to kick in July 1. Gov. JB Pritzker made affordability a central theme of his fiscal 2027 budget, but this temporary reprieve does nothing to change the long-term reality of yearly automatic gas tax increases.

With or without a vote lots of taxes will be going up. With a vote a lot of new taxes will be coming to you soon.

Don’t forget the automatic increases to the tolls…which has a massive surplus that they transferred money out of to bailout the CTA and as a payback to union labor they added the automatic increase to the tolls. Heaven forbid that they make the users of the CTA pay for it by increasing the fares. Let’s face it, part of the reason ridership is down is because of bad democrat policies and people have left Shitcago and Illinois and also the Covid shutdowns that had employers instituting work from home and people don’t go into the office/downtown anymore. This automatic increase, along with the automatic increases in legislators’ salaries, is brought to you by the Democratic Party, you know, the guys who believe in the people’s right to make decisions about public matters. Hahahahahaha!

Democrats have definitely been making those decisions in the state. They are massively supported by the voters in every recent election. The voters are getting exactly what they want so, in essence, they are indirectly making decisions about public matters. Just as our founding fathers intended for the greatest country on earth. My statement was rooted in reality rather than optimism. It’s brought to you by the voters not the Democratic Party.

Your statement, It’s brought to you by the voters not the Democratic Party, is totally BS dude.

Corrupt Illinois Dems have gerrymandered the entire state to stay in power.

Take a look at the 2nd Ward in Chicago and explain the “lobster” shape.

I am 99.99% sure you are a public sector union grifter!!

Isn’t Illinois Fun?
