Congressman calls out Chicago schools’ academic woes – Center Square

When Chicago Public Schools Superintendent Macquline King testified before Congress, U.S. Rep. Burgess Owens questioned the academic proficiency rates for students in Chicago Public Schools: “Is a 77 percent failure rate in reading ok? A 76 percent failure rate in math and 88 percent of our Black students not being able to read, is that ok Dr. King? Is that success or failure?” King replied, “That is not acceptable."

All IL public schools are failing students. All JB and the teachers union do is lower the bar so they won’t look as bad Work on improving education instead of indoctrination of students.

“That is not acceptable”. But it apparently is to the mindless voters who keep voting in the same failed policy politicians. Regarding student chronic absenteeism, they are just following the example of their teachers chronic absenteesim.
