A disappointing first year for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson – Wirepoints
Nearly one year ago, Chicagoans cheered Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s removal from office. In her place was Brandon Johnson, who promised a more inclusive approach to building a “better, stronger, safer Chicago.” It hasn’t turned out that way. Today, there’s little disagreement that Mayor Johnson has disappointed on most key issues. On crime. On policing. On migrants. On education. On governance. Even on foreign affairs.
It’s never enough…
The Majeskes took home $90,667 between the 2 of them last year, so they aren’t exactly hurting. They can easily afford to pay for their health care. Considering they pay a hair under 2K in property taxes for their house in Morris, they have plenty left over.
Nice catch. Furthermore, both have been retired since 2001, so I’d bet they saved about $45,000 over the years by paying no state income taxes on their retirement income. And since they undoubtedly invested that money just as their their benevolent pensions do, they should have another $70K in interest on top of that, right? So what’s the problem?!
