Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. BENEDICT Rauner is a 1 term Governor.
don’t mind a little friendly competition, but the Republican Party has to come together in November if it expects to win. I too am upset about the abortion bill and sanctuary state thing-but what’s the alternative? Sort of like the choice Democrats had for Chicago mayor-Rahm or Chuy.
Four choices, republican, democrat, stay home, or write in. It’s time for registered republicans to do a massive write in. The state can’t even pay its electric bills, but this governor is requiring me to pay for the killing of mostly-black babies? I want no part in state sponsored abortion and my vote will let them know that.
Hey Rick, why not vote for Jeanne Ives in primary & send the Gov a message?
Hey JC – sorry man, but Rauner lost me with the Sanctuary State. It’s going to be an interesting primary, as Rauner has no base & has not built a loyal coalition in 3 years.
