Government leads Illinois job growth over last twelve months – Quicktake

The Illinois Department of Employment Security has its latest monthly employment report out.

Monthly figures bounce around a lot and aren’t terribly important. But here’s the real eye-catcher:

Government added more jobs than any other sector — 14,800 over the last twelve months.

The closest sector was manufacturing, which has had a nice rebound, adding 12,800 jobs. No other sector is even close. Here are the details from the report. That number is highlighted in the bottom row:
