Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. And i believe chicago/cpd spends most per capita on policing than any big city. And 1/2 the 911 operators are on fmla days at any time
and cpd homicide clearance rate is a joke. and thousands of rape kit/ dna test go untested (not sure why those can’t be contracted out–does afsme claim rape kit testing?)
The root cause of this problem isn’t some foreign invader, or disease or pestilence. It’s Republicans. Yes, people all over the city, shoot at each other like zombies with no ability for self-control or free will, because … Republicans.
