Not a single “No” vote from the State House or Senate on Senate Bill 75 (SB 75), signed into law as Public Act 101-0221 (PA 101-0221) on August 9, 2019. One has to scan through 195 pages to determine how the Workplace Transparency Act changes existing law. The Daily Herald article included this sentence. “As the Illinois law calls for training programs that are approved by the Illinois Department of Human Rights, Huspen feels that the law has proper focus.” However a search on the Illinois Department of Human Rights (DHR) website for “Workplace Transparency” and “Public Act 101-0221” returns… Read more »

Gosh. It sure looks like Laurie Huspen, founder of Valuable Resources Co. and its live performance training group Taboo Topix will have lots and lots of new work in the upcoming year and for many years into the future thanks to this time wasting law. I wonder how much money she contributed to Mike Madigan and JB Pritzkers political campaigns or to one of their favorite PAC’s? No doubt it was a well chosen “investment” for Ms. Huspen. Does the law apply to Democrats? The legislature? The governor? The mayor?

I just finished a 1 hour corporate mandatory harassment module on the HR site.
A lot on quid pro quo.
There must be over 15 protected classes.
The only group not protected are non disabled white cis males under the age of 65.

This is great for businesses! Just another reason not to hire more in Illinois! It’s like, are they purposely trying to drive small businesses out of Illinois? Small businesses owners are often middle class and Republican…..maybe that’s the goal? They really are trying to make our life miserable.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
