According to a Friday article in Instapundit, Northwestern University is trying to impose a “critical-studies woke dean” on the law school, and the faculty is fighting back.
The nominee for dean is Hari M. Osofsky, apparently submitted by the university’s provost. A hastily scheduled meeting and vote by the law school faculty is set for Monday, the Instapundit article indicates. The abbreviated process seems to be as much of an issue as Osofsky, about whom I have no knowledge or opinion.
If the Instapundit article is right that some faculty are balking at the prospect an allegedly “critical-studies woke dean,” that would be a refreshing change of pace. The faculties of virtually every law school in America are now entirely dominated by the far left. Resistance by centrists and conservatives has been virtually nonexistent.

The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.
The new Dean has already been hired based on a ( reportedly) non-secret ballot. In addition to “equity” and “social justice” credentials, she has “climate change” experience. That the climate scare is a hoax complete with fabricated data is apparently a positive for hiring.
So basically the thoughts and writings of all professors must be pre-approved by the thought police? This will separate the idiot professors from the real professors, only an idiot would want their thoughts policed.
Northwestern is a joke. Its reputation is in the trash. Loyola its less selective neighbor to the south in Chicago has a better reputation! What a disgrace NW has become!
Yale is named after a slave trader and NW is a woke fascist school. Graduates of these two schools should be embarrassed.
PLease stop calling it “woke” its fascism at it’s finest. If you replace “woke” with fascist you will get the picture pretty quickly.
