‘A low-wage state’: Gov. JB Pritzker responds to Indiana’s secession bill – Indianapolis Star

"I'll just say Indiana is a low-wage state that doesn't protect workers, a state that does not provide health care for people when they're in need, and so I don't think it's attractive for anybody in Illinois where wages are higher where the standard of living is higher, and we do provide health care for people in need," Pritzker said.

You know, the jelly belly response says a lot about the leftist’s approach. It’s not about making a convincing case of why people should WANT to stay in / come to Illinois. It’s not about listening to your citizens and trying to understand why nearly one third of your state wants out and went so far as to actually vote on it to make sure their desire to exit was formally memorialized and maybe do something….anything to acknowledge and redress the grievances. It’s about force…….coercion…..enslavement….with the left. One thing is for sure…….this movement in Illinois isn’t going away. It’s probably… Read more »

It got Pritzker’s attention! Enough he felt the need to respond.

JB the Hutt dares to impugn Indiana’s economic record? According to the Hutt, Indiana is a ‘low wage sate’, eh? That makes Illinois the ‘no wage state’, as jobs keep migrating out to states lacking the insane policies of the former State of illinois now known as the vast economic wasteland known as Madiganistan.

If you believe Toilets, you should stay in Illinois where you belong. If not, you may want to look elsewhere. People that would believe that sack of excrement deserve everything they are about to get and do not deserve to live in a free state. You are not smart enough to be considered human.

Between Chicago and Indianapolis there are at least 3 Subaru Auto plants assembling excellent automobiles. For a good read, get the book “American Steel”. It is the story of NUCOR steel whose first plant was in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Also, the statewide community college system IVY Tech puts Illinois vocational training to shame. Anyone who listens to anything the Fred Flintstone Governor of Illinois has to say and takes it seriously is right where they belong and should stay there.

Both Durbin and Duckworth made utter partisan fools of themselves on national TV this week in the confirmation hearings. Can only assume Pritzker didn’t wish to be left out. Total trifecta of partisan Democrat fools for IL.

It was ASTONISHING to see their low – IQ stupidity on display in the hearings! Along with the idiot Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii, it was “quite the show”, lol…

As I said at another site:

Ah Tammy Duckworth. Every time I think the mouth breathing, window licking, paste eating moron named Dick Durbin is the stupidest Senator Silly-nois sent to the Hill, ol’ Tammy opens her yapper. Makes me happy I left that above ground hole.”

JB, ask carpetbagger South Bend Stacy why she lists her primary residence (per Kass) in IN?

Moved from Cook County to NW Indiana 4 years ago. Best thing we ever did. The effect was that of getting a raise. A BIG raise. Lower cost of living overall, lower taxes, lower crime (virtually nonexistent where we live), fewer illegal aliens (none where I live), no homeless camps . . . excellent services, nice people, excellent recreation opportunities, and a NEWER BIGGER house for less cost in a tranquil neighborhood . . . i.e., more house for the money: we were able to purchase about 80 percent of our house with the proceeds from the sale of our… Read more »

I wish I had the circumstances to do what you did. Like you said, the lower cost of living is like giving yourself a raise. There’s a reason that people with pensions move to Indiana even though their pensions are taxed by Indiana – it’s worth it!!!!! And no worries, you will soon see the stores you mentioned. The smart businesses know where to migrate too! Enjoy!!!!!

JB keeps taxing to support the far left agenda overtaxing working people. It’s time for this to stop. Maybe he’s waiting to file bankruptcy. Start representing citizens instead of far left ideals. For me, I wish my town would succeed from Cook county. I’m not represented and Preckwincle does not want to provide services in the suburbs. She only wants to tax suburbs. .

The private-sector job market is not that hot in Illinois. When my husband was laid off from his job in the Chicagoland area, he got another job in Indiana (with health insurance) at the age of 58. It did not pay as much as Illinois job, but cost of living is lower in Indiana. Property taxes much lower.

The states surrounding Illinois continue to grow in population, including Indiana. Meanwhile, Illinois shrinks. And JB thinks he’s the wise one.

Indiana residents also miss out on the chance to participate in the highest state debt per capita in the country to preserve the pensions of the public unions that contribute to the politicians who can thus stay in their cushy jobs until they too retire on nice pensions. They miss the utter joy of being a sanctuary state that virtue signal with public money and then call governors of border states racists for sending illegal migrants their way to house, feed, provide with healthcare and education, putting them ahead of citizens in true need. They miss out on a governor… Read more »

JB – the short, stout and plump – inherited billionaire attacks Indiana over $$$$! That’s all the man cares about, is money! How petty.

Hello, Indiana!

I’ll just say that IN doesn’t give out abortions and gender reassignment surgery paid for with tax dollars, actively push cannabis and gambling as revenue streams and isn’t considering legalizing the worlds oldest profession as a viable option for more tax revenue.

Right JB. That must be why so many thousands of Illinoisans are moving across the border to get to Indiana. You just must be so much smarter than all those folks.

Illinois’s higher wages are less impressive when one factors in Indiana’s lower tax burden and cost of living. Illinoisians migrate to its neighbors because they understand math. J.B. doesn’t.

Be it “stunt” or “carnival barker” Pritzker is up to his name calling again in his unique style that is getting rather old. Pritzker just doesn’t realize it yet that nationally the voters have tired of the ultra liberal mantra and, on a more local level the downstate voters have sought to succeed from his rule. Pritzker just doesn’t realize it yet but circumstances have dictated his goal for a national run has been crushed and he is now demoted to the rank of “old news.” Too bad JB, you almost made it but “almost” only counts in horseshoes and… Read more »

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Audio here.
