Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Not according to Pritzker last night. I believe he said from some publication that Illinois schools rank among the highest.
So, he lied? Perish the thought!
“It’s about a system that fails at its most basic function: to prepare Illinois children for their future.”
Is it though? Is not gender identity and social justice activism more important than reading,writing and arithmetic? Is it not white supremacy to even compare BIPOC to their white peers? Does it not further the white supremacy narrative that BIPOC should aspire to read and write at a level comparable to their white peers?
The progressive seems to think so. That’s why the kids are illiterate and clueless but can have the gender gingerbread/unicorn memorized.
