Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. The state’s existing buyout program for its own pensions is the precedent for Chicago, which should be a warning: Look out for similar exaggerated claims and shoddy analysis.

Minnesota’s stay at home order is suddenly expiring. Wisconsin has been opened up by the courts. New York counties open Friday; New Jersey, Delaware beaches to reopen for holiday weekend. Pittsburgh area and much of Virginia also will allow some businesses to reopen on May 15.

Interesting that when the Chicago media supported Pritzker against Rauner with one voice in 2018, its writers and broadcasters implied that he would be little more than another face in the crowd of Madigan stooges in Springfield. They did not mention, and maybe didn’t know, that he might actually be another dangerous psychopath avid for total power in his own right. The whole idea behind the executive orders from Bubblehead is so that he can be crowned “King of Illinois” and run the state as his personal kingdom. Bowing down to the corrupt demoncrats in Chicago/Cook County his majesty Bubblehead will rule with impunity. The evil of Cook County is unending and destroying an entire state to satisfy the greed and corruption of the “Machine “.

Pritzker is literally trashing a number of state laws, and civil rights, in his unbridled ’emergency powers’. Why have laws, or a Constitution?
