A taxpayer-funded fair housing nonprofit in Illinois, with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), is demanding a federal crackdown on landlords who don't rent to tenants with eviction records.

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Sounds like an impairment of contract or a form of eminent domain with property rights being confiscated without just compensation. Can landlords get an injunction during the five years plus or minus that it will take this through the various courts: eviction, state constitutional, federal constitutional.
Hmm, Jeffrey Dahmer lived in an apartment. I wonder if that Milwaukee landlord ever suffered from tenants remorse?
I like to hear about the next guy that moved into that apartment but something tells me the whole building was unrentable after Jeff sorta moved out. Yes wokesters, landlords have a right to know the background of a prospective tenant. Even the bigoted ones.

The illogical and nonsensical disparate impact theory again. The SCOTUS really needs to strike down this theory once and for all.
In other developments, the ACLU has joined a suit challenging proprietors of restaurants who refuse service to known patrons who skip out on paying their tab.
