And yet, according to public data, the CTA has about 470 more bus operators than it did in 2019 and the same number of rail operators as it did that year — 880.

The desire to cheerlead non-events such as the ‘first left-handed three-legged bowler to muster a 7-10 split’ overwhelms the urchins at the Trib such as Talia Soglin. Instead of focusing on the task at hand, Talia starts her puff piece with a love letter to Nora Leerhsen merely getting hired, albeit as a temp. Frankly, given the dismal performance of her political animal predecessors, that first day on the job might be the high point of her tenure in a job that few would sensibly crave.
