Adam Kinzinger Once More Throws GOP Under the Bus in Farewell Speech – Downhill

On Thursday, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) gave his farewell speech on the House floor. After serving since 2011, he decided not to seek reelection in 2022, after Illinois State Democrats pretty much redistricted his seat out of existence. That's some reward for obsessively criticizing former and potentially future President Donald Trump under the bus, isn't it? In the time leading up to his retirement from Congress, he has continuously been throwing his own party under the bus, and his farewell speech was no different.

Not quite sure what happened to Adam along the way. He started out so well with the mainstream Republicans in Illinois. Great campaigner. Good solid central Illinois values. Off to a good start for two terms in DC. Then he lost his way. Turned out to be unreliable, hypocritical, double crossing, and just downright weird. It would be a great research project to find out what turned the fellow into the angry, pompous outcast that he is today.

Kinzinger switched to the Democrat party and didn’t tell anyone. He naively thinks he was elected to office to vote his conscience.

It never ceases to amaze me how RINO’s like Kinzinger seem to be oblivious to the fact that they support and enable the worst of Leftist policies with their harping on about the GOP abandoning their principles. I really could not tell you what Kinzinger’s principles might be other than huge self aggrandizement

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
