Advocates renew push to tighten firearm laws aimed at protecting domestic violence victims – Capitol News IL

A proposal dubbed Karina’s Bill, contained in House Bill 4469 and Senate Bill 2633 , would clarify the process for victims who seek specific orders of protection under the state’s firearm remedy – one of 18 specific remedies that can accompany an order of protection.

Way too much gray area for abuse with this law. Similar to Red Flag laws, any disgruntled ex will be able to disarm a law abiding citizen out of spite.
