Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. Different condo association manager recently sent email to building residents, to note its condo association employees (capable adult males) won’t intervene if they see a resident being victimized outside this building in vicinity of McClurg/Grand. Scant assurance for the number of frail old ladies who live there, who still walk around within Streeterville environs.

Sorry, but “staying out of Chicago” is a logical fallacy because people live and work in Chicago but most importantly…Chicago doesn’t stay out of your neighborhood. I live very close to Chicago and I used to work downtown. I’ve been ‘in Chicago’ and gotten out of my car or off the train no more than three or four times in the past 4 years. I’ve driven through the northwest side several times to run errands, but haven’t gotten out of my car. But you are correct, that ‘Chicago’ will come to your neighborhood in the suburbs.
