After McDonald’s CEO says Chicago needs to ‘face facts’ about problemsMayor Lightfoot says he should ‘educate himself’ before speaking – Chicago Tribune*

The mayor also referenced an open letter by Michael Fassnacht, her handpicked head of World Business Chicago, that she said “lays out in exactly detail all the good news, economic news, about what’s happening in our city, so I’m going to focus on those things and not the comments of CEO of McDonald’s.”

Lori loves to spout. I think she should publicly crow how beheadings are down.

Why does BD Lori get so easily offended? Freedom of speech only goes one way, right BDL? She really is a sad tiny simpleton.

Good idea Lori. Let’s ignore the comments from another one of the top executives in the entire world, and focus only on the puffery of one of your own lackies. The McDonalds CEO is probably just like Ken Griffin, Caterpillar, Boeing and how many other corporate leaders who have expressed concerns– they just cause trouble by telling the truth.

She hates white men. She’s made that extremely clear. She gets into public fights with white men or white adjacent men in leadership positions frequently.

That’s the problem Lori, he has been educating himself by ignoring your fairytales. Whenever Lori or Brown twist the numbers; go to CWB.

I nominate Lightintheloafers for the Coleman A. Young municipal governance award.

This annual award honors a politician who does the worst job of municipal stewardship during their tenure in office.

I’m not a fan of Lightfoot, but there is some truth in what she is saying. The McDonalds CEO made a poor decision to move to Chicago simply because he did not “educate himself” about the reality of Chicago. McDonalds bought into the woke view of Chicago urban life and now they have to live with it.
Lightfoot’s version of “educate himself” has a different meaning than I am using, but the words are the same.
Short version: Get woke, go broke.

Typically CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies are low on the education scale. They got where they’re at by lying and scheming. Wait, I meant to say your typical politician.

….Lightfoot is the worst of the worst. Unbelievable. Condescending and living in bizarro world. Yes, Boeing, Citadel, Caterpillar, and McDonalds matter…..no amount of bozo spin can change real world facts. Sorry…and hopefully “good-by” Ms. Lightfoot after the next mayoral election.

Lori is an ideologue, like a Bolshevik. She doesn’t care if Boeing, Citadel, Caterpillar, and McDonalds leave. She’s said as much. The only thing she cared about, and far too late, was the Bears, and only after the people around her were like “you may not care about the Bears but others do and your legacy will be remembered as the Mayor who lost the Bears.” So she feigned concern they were leaving, came up with some ridiculous plan, and left it at that.

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
