Ald. Lamont Robinson calls for renaming Columbus Drive as Barack Obama Drive – CBS2 (Chicago)

Honoring explorer Christopher Columbus has fallen sharply out of favor among many Americans – particularly over the past several years; the change is rooted in a call to recognize the victims of colonialism, rather than to celebrate the explorer. "We need to honor more Black men, and this is one small way we can do that," Robinson wrote on X. "Chicago's children deserve to see that they too can become Black history..."

How about simply “B. O. Drive”?

But if that doesn’t work, Barack Obama Drive would dovetail nicely with Balbo Drive: the Twin Fascist Thoroughfares!

It was really bad enough that they renamed the world famous Lake Shore Drive requiring an additional name be uttered every time it is said, but to start renaming streets that have been part of the City’s history forever…just to please a few. What the hell are we doing here? There is nothing necessary about this change, nothing needed and adds nothing to the City.

Typical racist move by another victimhood mentality disordered liberal. They want to rename everything for someone black and when possible make sure that they are doing so with something that was named after a white person. What they don’t realize as that as $chitcago’s demographics change as blacks are leaving and Hispanics are replacing them is that the Hispanics will start renaming all the black streets, schools etc after Hispanics. Historically, the blacks and Hispanics do not like each other, so don’t be fooled by their recent attempt to fool people that “people of color” are allies. Don’t believe it?… Read more »

Columbus was an explorer and attempted to
Find a new world. I am sick of this woke crap.
Stop trying to destroy past history. No one
From Africa jumped into a canoe and sailed
Across the Atlantic to find North America.

Ald. Robinson, did you hear Michelle and Barack Obama’s statement regarding what’s being done to their fellow Chicagoans by the invasion of illegals in this country? Me either!!

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
