Alderman calls for earlier curfew, more police after Streeterville shooting – NBC5 (Chicago)

Ald. Brendan Reilly called for the city’s curfew for teens to be moved back from 10 p.m. to 8 p.m., and criticized city officials for not moving forward on the proposal. He also criticized parents for the unruly behavior of teens at the so-called “takeover” events. “Parents are letting (kids) leave the house with guns in their backpack. It should just never happen, and outrage is an appropriate response for it,” he said.

Shifting the curfew to an earlier time will allow the Chicago thugs to see better, since it’ll be lighter out when they’re shooting; that way, they can improve their shooting accuracy.

I’m amazed NBC5 actually quoted Brendon Reilly for pointing the finger at where the fault really lies-lack of parental responsibility. Of course they also balanced that by quoting a resident who said he feels safe even with the street taken over, cars speeding and spinning, and shootings.

Why not just ban teens from the streets entirely, open a free shooting range and let them practice.

And no mention that a plate check of a car screaming down a one way street the wrong way afte shooters were caught on camera piling into it came back to a “ violence interruptor “.
