Just enforce laws, and throw the criminal bums in prison for long prison sentences and charge the juveniles as adults for their crimes. 10 year mandatory minimum for carjacking cars for example would put an end to carjackers. I don’t live in Streeterville so perhaps this is being done – Neighborhood Watch. I was once part of a group that would do patrols in the neighborhood to ‘keep watch’ at certain hours. A Sergeant of the local PD told us to call police (not 911) whenever something or someone looked suspicious, and he would have a patrol car come by right away to investigate. Its a great idea and in normal times, super workable and effective. Unfortunately, now, if you called CPD, there is a good chance that there wouldn’t be anyone coming. My son was driving at about Lawrence and Cicero area, stopped at a red light and was rear-ended. He called the Police and got out of the car, went back to the guy that hit him to exchange information. The police are great, the problem is the police do their job arresting these morons then they get let out same day with no charges filed thanks to the moron Chicago politicians. Nothing will happen because the white hating zoo animals that make the policies in Chicago wont do anything because they hate white people anyways.
An auxiliary force of deputized volunteers in the neighborhood would be to complement the local PD, not replace them. Increasing numbers would reduce crime. The deputized volunteers know the neighborhood.

Not sure if that theory is correct. State Sen. Kim Lightford and her husband were carjacked two years ago and I certainly didn’t notice any changes in our crime policies since that happened.
