Aldermen and their terrified constituents demand answers to carjacking spike – Chicago Sun-Times*

More police, surveillance cameras and license plate readers; brighter street lights; one-way streets and jersey barriers to cut off escape routes were some of the suggestions made. Aldermen also demanded dedicated use of the Chicago Police Department’s sidelined second helicopter, stricter laws and tougher sentencing to crack the whip on “extremely dangerous, unbelievably emboldened” juvenile offenders who ignore police directives.

This is NOT car jacking problem……… it is a car problem. We have too many cars on the street. Time to go after and sue the car manufacturers. Cars brought into Chicago from Indiana and Wisconsin thru straw purchases. Chicago is officially a Shithole run by Shit heads. Remember at the end of the day you get what you vote for!

With the new no cash bail the hijackers will be back out on the street in no time. Just think too, the people of Illinois voted for this to happen.

There is no penalty, no consequences to car jacking. Why should they stop doing it? No reason. The Police can catch them…but why. This will only stop if there are consequences to the action. Even if they are arrested by Police…the court lets them out without bail and they are right back out jacking cars again. This problem is caused by our elected officials. In the new world order there will no longer be carjackings. They will now be called “Redistribution of Automotive Resources”, crime problem solved. Reparations come in many different ways.

This is much ado about nothing. They are stealing cars because they need money to feed their families. How can you fault a man for stealing a loaf of bread to feed his hungry children?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
