Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension. With the new no cash bail the hijackers will be back out on the street in no time. Just think too, the people of Illinois voted for this to happen.
There is no penalty, no consequences to car jacking. Why should they stop doing it? No reason. The Police can catch them…but why. This will only stop if there are consequences to the action. Even if they are arrested by Police…the court lets them out without bail and they are right back out jacking cars again. This problem is caused by our elected officials.
