Ameren Illinois customers may see $600 increase in their annual electric bill. – State Journal-Register (Springfield)

The increase is the result of an interconnected system of companies, government agencies and the energy market. “Wholesale electricity prices are strongly correlated to natural gas prices and global and national trends have been pushing prices up,” said Anthony Starr, the director of the Illinois Power Agency.

Like Nicor Gas price for May is $1.11 per therm compared to .53 cent/ therm last year which is still almost double from the year before at approx .28 cent. What concerns me is will these prices continue through the summer and increase even more during winter like it did last summer.
One guess is that when people switched over to LED lights consumers saved some money but utilities had reduced revenues so they raised prices to compensate.

One big problem, we dont have enough electricity now, renewables aren’t enough or for that matter even close how in the hell are we (they) the ones who own electric vehicles going to keep them charged. Rush rush rush with absolutely no plan in place typical Illinois politicians for ya, it seems like this is all headed towards the control demolition of the American people.

A neighbor of a friend of mine in Rockford bought 2 entry level Teslas. I suggested that he get some solar panels with a Generac power storage cell. Same friend just put in solar panels enough to generate power so that his bill should be $10-$15 dollars. Your right. No plans from so called leaders.

Count on CTU’s demands to veer further from reality until the public finally says no.

Ted joined Dan and Amy to talk about a new law passed by the Democratic supermajority and signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker that results in brazen election interference, keeping Republicans off ballots; about a referendum that tests the waters for a renewed progressive income tax hike; about how the Parental Notification referendum question was knocked off the ballot; and why laws like that pass so easily.

Chicago needs more champions of literacy like Willie Wilson – Wirepoints

It’s rare to see city leaders in Chicago take an open, unabashed stance on the collapse of literacy. To complain is deemed as too political, too racist or too anti-public schools. So it’s refreshing to see Willie Wilson, a successful businessman and leader of the black community, call for a literacy initiative “with the goal of getting 100% of Black students reading at grade level.”
