Amid mounting pushback, Illinois drag queens push forward – Chicago Tribune*

“It just seems that people don’t understand and they don’t want to learn and come to experience what a joy these shows are and the joy on these kids’ faces,” drag queen Ginger Forest said. “It’s very fun. It’s very wholesome.”

In the absence of the old Ringling Brothers circus, these are simply the modern equivalent of clowns, with all that goes with it.

Hard pass.

Clowns? Yup.

Innocent fun for kids? Nope!

what they are doing to children is sick and twisted. Insanity has taken hold of some of these people who are promoting this.

Nothing against drag queens/drag shows — live and let live — but they are not appropriate place for kids — especially at taxpayer expense

The live and let live stops when the perversion comes into schools to indoctrinate helpless children and shames the parents when they complain and want to protect their children!

Children have a habit of laughing at clowns at the circus so it does not surprise me they are laughing at the drag queens dancing on a stage

I don’t care what consenting adults do. When you start grooming children, you’ve got my attention. All of these recent “events” involve an audience of children. What the hell is going on in this country? Not only is this not okay, you can bet your last dollar that the next “event” will step even further over the line. This is how the woke crowd works.

Maybe you need to start to care what consenting adults do. Because now they’re trying to force their degeneracy on you. Libertarianism doesn’t work in an era where consenting adults engaging in degeneracy decide they want your children and YOU are in the way.

For many years, I used to consider myself part of the libertarian wing of the Republican Party, but I’ve since been convinced by the conservative right that the libertarianism belief system is not suited for our current times. I no longer have libertarian beliefs. For years, libertarians said, “Live and Let Live, Let consenting adults do what they want, even if I don’t agree with it.” And consenting adults did what they wanted. But unfortunately, consenting adult beliefs have gotten bizarre and destructive. Worse, these consenting adults do not share your libertarian beliefs. They have progressive, authoritarian beliefs. They will… Read more »

And that’s where libertarianism fails, because there’s no mechanism in the belief system to self-preserve. You let consenting adults do what they want to do, and they’ll use it to destroy you and your own belief system. It’s never been more obvious than during June when Globohomo takes over, and you realize consenting adults have forced you, against your consent, to celebrate their values or face ruin. How’s libertarianism for you now?

Mark Glennon on AM560’s Morning Answer: Chicago pension buyout plan mostly shifts debt rather than eliminating it, property tax surge doubles inflation over three decades

Chicago’s political leadership is floating a pension buyout program as evidence it is seriously addressing the city’s thirty-six-billion-dollar unfunded pension liability, but Mark Glennon, founder of the Illinois policy research organization Wirepoints, said that the proposal moves debt from one column to another rather than reducing it, and that the broader fiscal picture facing the city continues to deteriorate across every measurable dimension.
